Hand block printed in Sanganer, near Jaipur, where the cloth is stamped by hand with carved teak blocks, one impression at a time. Cream and navy line-drawn lotus blooms float across a soft aqua ground.

44-inch-wide cotton cambric, a smooth, mid-weight cotton that takes a print beautifully and sews easily. Cut to your length, by the yard.

Made for dressmaking, kurtas, quilting, cushions and craft, whatever you make. Choose your length below; as a cut-to-length fabric it can't be returned once cut (see Returns).

100% cotton. Hand block printed in Sanganer, Jaipur. First wash separately in cold water, following the vinegar-soak instructions in our Care Guide. After that, machine wash at 40°C with similar colours.

Sanganer prints colour directly onto a pale ground, which is why the motifs stay this crisp.

Cold water, separately. Add half a cup of white vinegar to the rinse, it sets the dye and prevents bleeding. Soak for 30 minutes, then a gentle cycle. Air dry in shade.

Machine wash at 40°C with similar colours. Mild detergent, no bleach, no fabric softener. Tumble dry on low or line dry in shade.

Warm iron, on the reverse side. The print stays crisper that way.

Cool, dry, away from direct sunlight. Cotton like this prefers to breathe, fold loosely, not tightly.

If you find one, clip with scissors. Don't pull. Hand-stitched edges sometimes leave a thread that wants to come out, it's normal, not a defect.

About this piece

How wide is the fabric?

44 inches wide. It's cotton cambric: smooth, mid-weight and easy to sew.

How long will it take to arrive?

Fabric is printed and cut to your order and dispatched within 3–4 weeks, then shipped with tracking.

Can I return fabric?

Because it is cut to your length, fabric can't be returned once cut. Please check your yardage before ordering.

How should I wash it?

First wash: soak separately in cold water with half a cup of white vinegar for 30 minutes, then rinse and air dry in the shade. After that: machine wash at 40°C with similar colours and mild detergent; no bleach. We recommend washing before you cut and sew. Full details in our Care Guide.

Why does the print vary slightly from repeat to repeat?

Every impression is pressed by hand with a carved teak block, so small shifts in alignment and depth of colour are expected. They are the mark of the hand, not a defect.
