Large white flowers and leaves open across a deep cobalt-blue ground. Hand block printed in our own factory in Sanganer, Jaipur, one impression at a time.

A kimono robe in smooth flat-weave 100% cotton, with a shawl collar, three-quarter sleeves, a self-tie belt and patch pockets. Relaxed one-size cut, choose your length below.

Light enough for warm mornings and easy to layer over loungewear, and made for bridal-party 'getting ready' mornings.

A NOTE ON IMPRESSION

Each colour in a block print needs its own carved block, so a three-colour design is stamped onto the cloth three separate times, lined up by eye.

Cold water, separately. Add half a cup of white vinegar to the rinse, it sets the dye and prevents bleeding. Soak for 30 minutes, then a gentle cycle. Air dry in shade.

Machine wash at 40°C with similar colours. Mild detergent, no bleach, no fabric softener. Tumble dry on low or line dry in shade.

Warm iron, on the reverse side. The print stays crisper that way.

Cool, dry, away from direct sunlight. Cotton like this prefers to breathe, fold loosely, not tightly.

If you find one, clip with scissors. Don't pull. Hand-stitched edges sometimes leave a thread that wants to come out, it's normal, not a defect.

About this piece

What size is the robe?

It's a relaxed one-size cut. Choose your length: Above Knee 34 in (87 cm), Knee Length 38 in (97 cm) or Mid-Calf 46 in (117 cm).

Is the cotton robe warm or light?

Light. It is smooth flat-weave cotton, not towelling or waffle, so it is breathable and easy to wear over loungewear on warm mornings. If you want something more absorbent straight out of the bath, choose one of our waffle robes.

Does it have pockets and a belt?

Yes: two patch pockets, a self-tie belt, a shawl collar and three-quarter sleeves.

How do I wash it?

First wash: soak separately in cold water with half a cup of white vinegar for 30 minutes, then rinse and air dry in the shade. After that: machine wash at 40°C with similar colours and mild detergent; no bleach or fabric softener. Tumble dry low or line dry in the shade. Warm iron on the reverse.
